I'm a French-Algerian woman artist. I recently moved to Spain with my South African husband after 11 years in London.
I'm a neurodivergent, Leo sun, Cancer rising — in other words, I’m as highly sensitive and loyal as I am fierce and stubborn, with a hyperactive messy brain, a big soft heart, and a deep sense of justice. Everything is political.
My journey
As a kid, drawing and painting was always my safe and magical space. And from as young as I can remember, I dreamt of becoming a professional artist, “a painter or a fashion designer” I’d say. During holidays and between my numerous extracurricular activities, I'd spend hours with any art book I could find, copying the work of masters. That's how I taught myself.
Although becoming an artist was always my dream, it got pushed to the back burner for years as my parents steered me toward something more "serious", more secure. So I studied business and worked in marketing for 10 years; until I jumped off the corporate track, in my 30s, to chase my childhood dream: making a living, and a life, from my art.
So here I am, habibi, making it real. Fancy coming along for the ride?
My art is my journal
My art is a record of everything that moves me: what inspires me, what makes me rage, what makes me weep, what makes me love. Art is inherently political, because everything is: our relationships, our bodies, our environments, and the systems that shape and condition them. Our very existence is political.
My work moves through reflections on my connection to nature, to others, to myself – my body, my emotions, alongside subjects I deeply care about: feminism, anti-racism, sisterhood, individual and collective liberation, resistance.
I paint from the heart. Simple, bold lines carry warmth and love, stripped bare to let their power speak.
I hope somewhere along the way you connect — that you feel inspired, supported, seen. When choosing art, let your feelings guide you. There's no right or wrong. Just ask yourself: what speaks to you? What draws you in, and holds you there?
